“Favour [is] deceitful, and beauty [is] vain: [but] a woman [that] feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.” (Proverbs 31:30) (KJV)

“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price [is] far above rubies.” (Proverbs 31:10) (KJV)

Womanhood is such a wonderful and challenging experience. The woman was created by divine plan to fulfil a unique and divine purpose. It is to be noted that every woman, without exception is expected to live a life that is worthy of emulation.

Continuous conflict is the mark of a relationship that is no longer working. There can never be peace in a conflict situation even if the partners pretend that nothing is wrong.  The sources of conflict may be distrust, value clashing, negligence, etc., but will worsen as communication gap widens, this leads to the inability of the spouses to communicate their fears.

Research has shown that persons with high Emotional Intelligence or Quotient (EQ) possess higher Intelligence skills than those with high Intelligence Quotient (IQ). Emotional Intelligence is the ability to assess and keep your emotions in check than allow them rule you. Emotionally Intelligent persons are in control of themselves with better self esteem as a result relate well with others. They are conscious of their emotions. They can be able to control their emotion excesses. Since they have good self esteem, they don’t need people all the time to validate their convictions. Attitudinal problems resulting to poor human relationship is a product of low EQ.

In relationship, as in anything else, knowledge is the key to success. Ignorance is dangerous. Lack of knowledge is the fundamental and most frequent cause of failed relationships. One’s desire to have financial freedom, live an honourable, glorious and peaceful life could be marred with trouble and distress if one fails to be on one’s guard all the time. We have the duty to control our feelings, actions and what we say. The home is very important. A well known American author, Taylor Caldwel, once said, “I would rather cook a meal for a man, bring his slippers and feel myself in the protection of his arm than have all citations and honours I have received worldwide.” This is applicable to men too. Without a home there is no true freedom, hope, joy, no expectations for tomorrow, and there is no contentment.

Appreciate your partner no matter how little their effort to make you happy!

When I came across a friend’s ‘black berry’ status update some time back, I wasted no time in telling her that she had made my day with such moving tribute to her husband (whose birthday was on that day).The words may seem simple but the message is powerful and I quote ‘’ Happy birthday to the man, that makes my smile his priority –may you know no sorrow’’. This can only come from a woman that appreciates her blessing .I teach women this (appreciation) a lot. Go out of your way to appreciate your man’s efforts (no matter how little) towards your happiness. Any man you praise for the little favours he shows you -will double his efforts next time. It is most discouraging when someone begins to feel that whatever he does for you is like pouring water into a basket.
